Roger Taylor Bootlegs

There are a couple of Roger bootlegs, though only one live one, and there are relatively few appearances on compilations. Both sides of "I Wanna Testify" can be found on "The Ultimate Collection 2", in good quality sound. The extended mixes of "Strange Frontier" and "Man On Fire" are on "The Ultimate Collection 3" (as is a "banned" version of "Nazis 1994"), but I don't know in what quality. As far as I know these are the only appearances on compilation bootlegs. The two dedicated Roger bootlegs are described below, and ought to be available at record fairs.

It's Not Easy To Define It

A two CD set recorded at Wolverhampton Civic Centre on the 4/12/94. Good sound quality (though a little "flat") and some great performances. Includes Jason Falloon's "See You In Hell", many tracks from "Happiness?", a lot of Queen songs and the ubiquitous "Man On Fire". Covers of "Voodoo Chile" and "Twist And Shout" add interest, as do many of the Queen songs, which include some early stuff like "Tenement Funster" and "I'm In Love With My Car". Many tracks ("Nazis 1994", "Revelations", "We Will Rock You" and "Radio Ga-Ga" in particular) are quite different to the normal versions. Very good indeed, though as a two-CD set its around £20 - £25.

Fun In Space and Strange Frontier

A single CD with both albums on it (well, nearly). Passable sound, but pretty much redundant now the official re-masters are out. Unfortunately, two tracks have been edited to enable the set to fit on a single disc. "Masters Of War" fades out half way through, and "I Cry For You" is only about a minute long here. Still, all of "Fun In Space" is present. Apparently this was originally planned as a double CD, which was to include all the remixes etc. and some of Roger's other work (such as the "Hilary Hilary" single). It's a shame this idea was dropped!
